“We had 6 very large fir trees very close to our house that were beginning to cause damage to the foundation on our house. These trees were over 100′ high. We asked several tree contractors for bids and selected James. During the bid process, I mentioned that it would be nice if they could give me a total bid for the tree removal including a crane, stump grinding and the cement work.
James was the only one that did this. He contacted a crane operator, a log truck driver, a mill to take the logs, a stump grinder and a cement contractor. He even met with these other contractors at our house and then put together a combined bid. Once we gave the OK, he did a great job of giving us a schedule and then doing everything in his power to make sure the contractors all showed up on time. During the whole process, they always cleaned up before going home and James kept in touch to let us know how things were going. And the project was finished on time and on budget.
We were delighted with the work James did. He’s hard working and very conscientious. I would highly recommend him.”

“James, let’s face it. You are the best! You arrive on the scene and the work gets done with superb skill and professionalism. The huge Deodar Cedar that had to come down and be gone in one day — well, you did it just like you said you would. I am grateful because it was a very difficult job.
I am grateful for all the times I have been able to call and tell you I have a project that needs to get done yesterday and you are there to do it today.
It’s really important to me how you leave a site when you are done. It’s spotless like you were never even there…except the tree is gone, of course.
I appreciate the knowledge you have about trees and trust your opinions about which ones to go and which to stay.
Thanks James. Did I mention that you are the best?
PS.I also respect the solid and steady way you have grown your business. Your ethics and integrity run deep.”

“What I needed from James was someone to manage the careful removal of about a half-mile of timber so a road could be built to provide access to two family properties. I needed someone who could manage the project, recover the value in the timber and open up the area so a road could be constructed, without it ending up looking like a scar. What I wanted was for the area to retain a natural appearance, as though the trees had just naturally grown in some places and not in others.
Since I do not live in Oregon, I needed someone who could grasp what I wanted and communicate clearly to me the challenges that arose during the project, so that over the phone we could work through them. The highest praise I can give to James came from my niece and nephew, who lived on the property when they were young. They approached it with caution, fearing they might not like it, but they were knocked out by how it looks.
Was I satisfied with the result? I am about to employ James to do an additional part of the project. What I wanted might not be what another property owner would want and James did a great job of listening to me and talking with me to make sure he understood what I wanted, so he could achieve the effect I was looking for. His work turned a necessary access route into an appealing feature of the property that impresses all who see it. The invariable response on first seeing it is, “Wow”, and that’s what I was hoping to achieve.”

“James Cummings has helped me many many times with my trees and landscaping needs over the past several years.
The first time I hired James was in 2005 to remove a large walnut that was pulling up the foundation of my garage. The tree was in a space about 6 feet wide, right between my garage and my neighbor’s. James removed it quickly without damaging either building, and the clean-up of his crew was phenomenal.
Since then, I’ve hired James several times to prune my overgrown apple trees; to prune several of my large cedars, and to remove a dying maple. Each time he has done excellent work, been informative about options, and been a joy to work with.”
